If you go to the gym a lot you soon learn "Curls get girls." Well in High School I guess it is "Tall Jeeps get girls."

It just doesn't rhyme that well.

I just wish in High School I had a new Jeep and $3k+ to blow on a lift.

That size lift is not needed... Plus you say the bigger the better but 37's will just look small on that then... Research is definitely needed if you start going above 3 inch of lift... Im running 37's with 2.5 inch teraflex coil lift and a 1 inch body lift. I chose to cut my fenders because I like the look. Go with a 4 inch lift and leave it at that... Id much rather go with that size lift anyways if I was running 37's anything about 4inch means new axles and 40's or more to me... well here is my jeep with my lift and 37's Click image for larger version

with gussets and tranny cooler since i have an automatic, and i would be good? and with the 4.5 in lift i would have to cut my fenders im assuming.
As said previously, ditch the cam bolts, also the dual steering stabilizer is most likely not needed, especially with the adjustable track bars and control arms. When your suspension is dialed in properly steering stabilizers can almost be done without. At 4 inches you are also looking at needing a front driveshaft if you drive an auto, so add on another $500. Running 37s I would sleeve and gusset, so add $300 in parts plus the labor.

If you cannot weld pay to have that done. Other than that you can do everything yourself with simple hand tools. There are enough write ups and pictures on this forum to supply you with everything you need. Coil spring suspensions are simple, and honestly if you plan to be a jeeper you need to learn basic fixes sooner or later. Not to mention the fact that you will pay usually between $60 and $100 an hour to have work done for you.

it takes a bit more to fit 35s under a tj you can run 35's with just a leveling kit, i ran 35's stock for a few days until my lift came in you cant go really offroad but you can fit them under a jk. like I and others have said take some time do some research write down the pros and cons to each lift and then go from there.3k is alot of money to throw to just throw at something and thats not even including rims and tires or gears if you want, and not to mention other stuff you want or will need. Dont rush take your time

What HS do you go to by the way i gradumatated from Cary

You can fit 37's with a 3.5" lift (2.5 if you chop the fenders but you said you don't want to do that). At this height you can get a short/mid-arm which you can install by yourself. It's also possible that you might not have to install driveshafts or steering mods.

With the height you're looking at, you'll need a long arm which you'll have to get installed professionally and you'll NEED driveline and steering mods. You're going to be WELL over $3k by the time everything is said and done... To do 37's right you should at least gusset and maybe sleeve your axles and add gearing as well which will be about $1k installed.

As others have said, there's a lot of research to do.

I'd suggest going with a nice complete 3.5" lift and do your axles and gearing. You can always work on the upgrades that you'll need for a 4.5" lift in the future, but 3k just won't do it.
