License plate mounting options on a front bumper?
Hello all!!
I live in a state which required a front plate to be dipslayed. I have just installed the Rugged Eidge XHD front bumper. Such a nice piece of work that I would feel terriable to drill holes in it for my plate. Any of you have any pics or suggestions on mounting this stupid plate? Any help would be great! Also this is my firsat post ever. Thanks again fellow JK'ers!!

Winch or non winch? If you've got a winch mount, check out Rock Dog Fab,they make a nice low profile holder that attaches to a hawse fairlead. For 30 bucks it's pretty well done.
And welcome to the forum, if you've got a question, you'll get plenty of answers. There are tons of pics, right ups and stories that will keep others in the house asking "What are you looking at over there?"

You might want to do a quick survey of oncoming cars like I did and discovered that 3 out of 10 cars here in CA don't run with a front plate even though it is supposedly required! No problems so far!

Yea here in Colorado i would have to say 8 out of 10 cars have front plates. My test was however much more deciding for me... a full and a half day after mounting the bumper i got pulled over for not having a front plate. Warning of course from the officer but i do not need him to catch me again as i drive the same exact roads to and from work everyday. Believe me, if i could get away with out it i would be just fine

Zip tie it to the crossmember that use to hold the stock plastic skid. That's what I did for my girl's jeep. In Maryland they just say it must be displayed on the front of the vehicle, so I say it's displayed.

When I had this on my 09 "X" I used the winch fairlead setup that allowed the plate to mount on that area. Worked great. On my 11 Rubicon I ordered an Elite Benchmark and it had a perfect flat spot below the fairlead so I drilled two holes and tapped them and it look great as well. Know what you mean about drilling into a new bumper, but here in Utah we need that second plate as well, and I don't like the $40.00 fine everytime they see me without it.
