The JW hotspot also spreads somewhat above the cutoff line, so it has to be aimed lower than TL, in order to not blind the traffic ahead.

I guess there we disagree. If a light is brighter overall, it can have a larger hot spot as well as more light to the sides.

I myself am looking to replace my headlights. Between TL, JW, or vision x
Looking for the best and I think it's TL.
And by best , best for a safe trip home on the highways from a ski trip in the mountains in a blizzard or finding camp in the woods.
I'll post pic from a article from 4x4 garage magazine fall 2013 comparing TL and JW

Researching more about vision x but "headlight revolution has a pretty good you tube video review of them

The overall light intensity doesn't matter, as the hot spot is relative to the light around it, and a hotspot is the opposite of even light spread.

I don't find the TL vs JW comparison, so here's a TL vs KC, which resembles the JW.
This is what I mean - a large hotspot vs more uniform light spread:

I've seen TL and JW comparison pictures, and I've seen both in person. The TLs light spread is more even, the JWs have a prominent hotspot.

The kc resembles the trucklites more than he speaker. Look at this cutoff line http://youtu.be/8AR2XHtrTyw Now, I think the new evo 2
look awesome and have My favorite light spread.

There are a bunch of other videos that will compare the evo 2 to the trucklite.

If you happy with truck lite output and pattern buy those! So much info out there it's nice to be able to make decisions after watching reviews and comparison. If you claim they are better than jw speaker I just would have to disagree!

Maybe you saw an older generation jw speaker?
