Default leaning jk

i helped a buddy install a rev-tek 2.5" spacer lift on his 08 jk unlimited. now it leans to the right slightly, about .5". i say it must have been like that before, he just didnt notice. he says no. anyways, is this a common problem? we swapped springs on the front side to side and it made no difference, even though the springs have different part numbers. if he orders a set springs, like the teraflexs or something, will it fix it?? thanks guys.

This is a common thing. The fuel tank is on the right side and tends to make that side sag a bit. Try checking it with less fuel or with someone in the left side to compensate for the fuel.

what robar said. the lean is common and if you were to look at your jeep with someone in the driver seat, it isn't as bad or is completely gone.

Common explanations:

  • Gas Tank on right
  • Battery on right
  • Engine torques to right
  • Towing pulls to right (related to engine torque?)
  • An extremely fat person sits on right (actually saw a "virtual fistfight" in another thread on this one)
  • Driver sits on left so right lower to compensate
  • "All Jeeps just do it" (from a local offroad shop)
  • Garage tilts to right
  • Your eyeballs tilt to right
I'm in the "all Jeeps just do it" camp. My YJ leaned to right. My friend's TJ leans to right. My Rubi leans to the right. Every JK I ever checked out leans to right to some degree or another.

Here's the $1 question: how do you fix it?

the JKS ACOS will fix it for ya.

or, if you install a EVO flex coilover system, they are completely adjustable and you can get rid of the lean that way too
