Default Leaking Rear Diff

Got my new 4dr rubi last weekend. Took her up to Paragon today. I apparently wacked the diff's pretty good. The rear is leaking. Does anyone know how to reseal the rear diff? Is their a special gasket or do you just use the stuff out of a tube???

Also can anyone reccommend a good steel plate for the diffs?

To reseal the diff you can either use an RTV type sealant OR a gasket. The gaskets are called Lube Lockers and can be found in most off road stores. I know 4x4 Parts carries them for sure. As for replacing the differential cover with something stronger.... There are many great options. Solid, Poison Spyder, Blue Torch Fab, Ruff Stuff, Crane, etc. My personal favorites are the Crane ones and the Blue Torch/Ruff Stuff covers.

If you are planning on using a gasket a great tip to making them seal properly is to get a correct fitting stud and put 2 of them in 2 of the holes on the housing. Put the gasket on the cover and slide the cover along the two bolts to meet the housing. Then without removing the studs... put the remaining bolts in and finally replace the studs with bolts. I forget who came up with this idea, but whoever it was thanks!

Yes, that was me, the 2 studs made the job so easy(bought at True Value)> and most important, it keeps you from moving the Diff cover around and really messing up your seal. I used the silicone gasket that come with my "ROCK CRUSHER DIFF COVERS"

I used Valvoline 75-90 with the limited Slip Additive already in it. You have a Rubi you don't need the additive. Royal Purple Synthetic is a great one also.
