I'll find out for ya no problem, he's a local shop here in Northern Ca. and does very good work. I ordered a new steering stabilizer after I bashed mine up an it comes in later this week so I'll ask him about i then. As far as I know it uses the srt8 cherokee brembo's so it's a little on the steep side but performs great. I think he said they used them on 6.1 hemi conversions but I'll have to double check.. to be honest I wasn't paying attention cuz we were doin a lil' diagnostic of my jeep at the same time haha.

It seems like outlaw offroad was coming out, or had come out with a big brake kit for the front and rear for about $700 for the whole deal.

That seems like a deal. Has anyone tried the EDC vented slotted rotors and yellow stuff pads? They claim great things, and the price is said to be similar.

Not a big brake kit but better pads and drilled/slotted rotors in the stock size. Front & rear for $629.

A need for "big" brakes is questionable. I guess if you're running 40's but there are quite a few out there on 40's who aren't screaming about brake trouble.

Did you call and ask the price?

Currently the kit features the SRT8: Calipers, Rotors, Master Cylinder, the various mounts, lines, etc. The Chrysler supplied SRT8 components are hard to come by and quite expensive. They're working on replacing the SRT8 calipers with Wilwood ones, which will make the swap easier. Currently the fronts require some machining, etc.

I'm hoping to get my hands on the parts other than the calipers, rotors and pads and give them a test in the coming weeks. For anyone who's seen my other posts, I've had the Calipers and Rotors sitting around forever and this is the first time anyone's been close to releasing a kit for the JK. And by the way it's not ready for release just yet, they're still testing everything out and trying to get all their ducks in a row so that when it's officially released nobody is left waiting months and months, as sometimes is the case with other JK parts (bumpers, etc, etc.).

The kit is for 20" and up wheels, but they've been testing and tweaking them for 18s. The calipers and rotors are simply too large for anything smaller.

Once I talk more with them, I can hopefully fill everyone in on whats entailed and how hard or easy the swap is. If anyone's reading this, who previously PM'd me in other threads about the Brembo swap, I've actually held on to those PMs so whenever I got it sorted out I could update everyone.

I'm really hoping this pans out, because I've been let down by local shops, but the guys who are making the JK Big Brake kit seem to really have it down.

Yes I talked to the guy today and he seemed very nice and excited about this kit. Its pricey but I know all the parts must be expensive. He never mention you needed 20" wheels, thats going to be hard to market, very few jk's have 20" wheels.

More and more are starting to run 20s, WayOfLife even has them now. It's not real common and most likely won't ever be the norm with Wranglers, but with more options now and people moving up to 40" plus tires I think there's definitely going to be demand for a brake kit to handle those. Plus if you're running the typical 16's or 15's, there's no room for bigger brakes, as the current ones fill up that size rim nicely and upgrading the pads and rotors would probably make a nice difference. But again I think they realize the 20" rim Wrangler market isn't huge, which is why they're working to squeeze some into 18s, since they're at least a bit more common even if they aren't the typical choice.

When I started talking about SRT8 Brembos a while back guys like, Rdy4Rks, eDiveBuddy, Calypson and a few others were wanting extra stopping power. Look at their builds and I think you'll see the type of build that will most likely be keeping a close watch on what develops. The price tag is fairly steep, but if I had any of those Jeeps and I invested that kind of money, 3k more really is a drop in the bucket if it helps you stop faster, which could pay off big time in the event of an emergency. Heck I don't have that kind of build and it's something I've been wanting for a long time. lol
