Default Knuckles Offroad Bumper

I was looking into buying one of these but on one of the websites it said you'd have to modify the carrier to hold a OEM wheel. I plan on buying nice wheels but am more concerned to get the spare off of my tailgate. I'd really rather not modify a $1,300 bumper to use it like that till I got my new wheels, does anybody know if this is true? Also the same site said you could use OEM wheels with the "skewer" bracket, the "skewer" will only work with fastback tops, is that right?

I do believe that modification is required for OEM wheel use. I'd call them directly, great people, and ask what needs to be done to mount your wheels. As for the "skewer", yes it is for the fastback tops but it's a bolt in option. The Skewer model bumper can be converted back to the straight vertical carrier for use with hardtops or normal soft tops.

I think the issue is that the bumper is made for a larger tire (up to 40") so the stock wheels and tires might rattle on the mount a little. Not positive but I remember hearing something along those lines.
