Default Keep Factory Muffler?

Hi All,

I have a 2011 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon with an aftermarket muffler installed. Is there any legal or emission inspection reasons to why I might need to keep the factory muffler? I am moving from CA to CO and don't want to pack the factory muffler if I don't need to.

Thanks!

As I understand it most mufflers are 50 state legal so you should be fine, the only time you run into issues is when you have removed components like catalytic converters. I'm sure someone from CO will chime in and give you the most accurate info.

Interesting... that a link to bookmark. It says "all vehicles are required to be equipped with mufflers"

I'm assuming I will be alright with out the factory muffler on hand.

Anyone else have anything else to add?

Thanks!
