Default kargo master roofrack

Hello again. My question is about mounting this roofrack without the stock bumper? I have an xrc bumper installed and the instructions show the rear mounting bracket coming up behind the stock bumper and looks like the rack kind of rests on the stock bumper. Kargo master says dont mount it without stock bumper and 4wheelparts said it wont work either. And one guy at another 4wheelparts said it would work. I have also seen a jeep on youtube with my bumper installed and this roofrack mounted. If any one has this rack and aftermarket bumpers please show me a few pics and let me know how its working for you. Also do you get the full weight capacity not having the stock bumper under the rear mount. Thanks

the stock bumper is plastic. it does not support anything on the rack. the racks rear brackets bolt to the frame, so unless your new bumper interferes w/ the mounting holes you should be ok. like if they wrap around the side, but even then its not like they should get in the way unless they utilize the mounting holes. the stock bumper hugs the body and the design of the rack was to simply slide the brackets in-between. excellent choice! ************* sweet kayaks balmorjk, dig that hood decal too and I might be a lil jealous of that kick ass teardrop

The mounts are YAKIMA , rollers in the back and saddles in the front. Make sure you get the crossbars for the rack, makes mounting the rollers and saddles easier..........

How much effort is it to get the soft top down and up with the rack?

I have the SmittyBuilt SRC bumper. I had to trim the bumper a bit to fit the mounting bracket. Will post pix tomorrow.

Just have to remove the bow knuckles to get about inch of extra clearance. This will let you lower the top without raising the rack.
