Are you more likely to suck up water than stock set up?

Yes but I live in SoCal, so most of my offroading is desert conditions.

Yes it is a K&N. Good for 1 million miles. That is of course as long as you wash/clean it with your oil changes and re-oil it. I already do it for the Harley and the the wifes 2010 VW Jetta TDI.

Well in desert conditions a dry filter such as a AEM Brute Force would of been a much better choice, those oiled filters suck up the sand way too much an destroy your clylinder walls.

Haha ya I kno just didnt look oiled I have one too but pictures never show true stuff . Good buy on the jetta TDI! Swore if I ever owned a car is buy a jetta tdi

Two things

There are a few videos on youtube of guys putting these things on and the video makes it look like they haul total ass afterward...but alot of people on this forum say its mild improvment.

Also my friend says minus the filter you can get the rest of what you need to make a CAI from LOEWS or Home Depot and not blow 200 bucks on one...is this true?
