Oil it properly and you wont have any issues. Jeep JKs dont have MAF sensors anyways. At least the 3.8s dont.

There are alternatives, AEM or AFE (don't recall which, or maybe both) make a dry filter that can be cleaned and reused. The one that comes to mind is called DryFlow, no oil, but can be cleaned with soap and water, or their special cleaner. They claim better filtration than the oiled filters. They are all about the same cost initially.

I have about 300K miles on 3 rigs using those filters. No problems. Its important to maintain them at the recommended interval or sooner.
If the filter isn't correctly oiled or it doesn't fit well in the filter housing then some dirt leakage could get past the filter.
