JK Wrangler lift and tire questions
Today I took my 07 Wrangler Saraha unlimited for the emergency brake to get fixed at the dealership. Note that my jeep has 65000 miles on it. I received a call tonight letting me know that two tires, shocks, and dampeners need to all be replaced. The dealership quoted everything to be over 900 dollars. My dad's friend owns a shop and was telling me he could do everything for lesser amount. Now that those items need to be replaced I have decided it is time to get a lift and bigger tires put on my Jeep. I was planning to do everything anyways, but now this has given me a reason to do so. I am totally new to adding a suspension and bigger tires to my jeep so any advice would be greatly appreciated. I am looking for a mild lift about 2.0-2.5 inches. Tire size would be 33". Would this setup work and what type of kit would be needed for this? I am also looking to use the wheels currently on my car. I have the upgraded 18 inch wheels. Thanks a bunch!

Pretty much every company sells a 2.5" coil kit which will work perfect for you. You can buy 33's and put them on your stock 18's, just get wheel spacers. There are countless threads about this so just browse a little bit and you will probably find more info than you need!
Edit: also check out the "show your 33's thread" to see what lift you like better.

A cheeper idea if you don't want to buy a lift is get fender flairs or cut the ones you have. 33's would run great and getting stock parts to replace what you need is cheeper. I bet there are pll on this forum that can sell u shocks and other needed items. It's a thought and an option to keep in mind.

Just installed 2.5 TeraFlex coil lift. Tires are 33x12.50 on 15x8 wheels. I ran the same setup for a while without the lift (first photo).
Side note, I considered putting 33s on my factory 17" wheels, but found I could get the same 33s to go on aftermarket 15" wheels for cheaper than just buying 33s for 17" wheels...just my $.02
Edit: apparently pics got rearranged (second pic is without lift)

Thanks for you input everyone! I am def going to go with a 2.5 lift. Is the only thing I need is the lift and spacers? Also as far as the wheels and tires I'm thinking about doing new wheels because I want black wheels. Is the way to go 15" wheels with the 33" tires? Reason i wanted to keep the old wheels is to save on cost, but if it is the same cost then I would be up for getting new wheels.

I have been looking at a thread for 33's vs 35's. Would I be able to run 35's on a 2.5 inch lift? What would the difference be in cost/drivability. Thanks!

There are a lot of guys here running 35's with 2.5in lift no problems but chime in guys if you're here.
