I have a 2007 JK Unlimited X equipped with a 6 speed manual transmission. It has a Dana 44 axle rear & a Dana 30 front. I have an OEM transfercase which is 2.7:1 ratio. Can I swap this out for a Rock Trac (4:1 ratio) that the Rubicons have. I'm talking unbolt and bolt back in without other modifications. I do know that the one's that came out of an auto are not interchangeable with a manual transmission. I'm getting mixed answers.......... yes's...... maybe's........ and I'm not sure's. Does any one know for sure. Any help appreciated.

 

Same exterior on both cases, direct bolt up.

Cases are different due to the ratio in the rock track. Check out last months jp mag it covers swaps and discusses the two. But should bolt right up.

I guess I should ask...........Will the OEM drive-shafts on my Jeep work on a Rubicon transfer case swap? Also...... will the 4WD indicator light on the dash just plug in ? BTW....... we are looking for last months JP Mag. Know we have it. Thanks
