Default JK Unlimited Rubicon Comp cut

I have an 09 Rubicon that I am trying to do something different around my area since it seems like every Jeep out there has the same setup or items on it. I have been looking into doing the comp cut on the rear of my 09 Unlimited Rubicon but was wondering if anyone has ever done this to their jeep. I know that river raiders make them but I just thought about getting a set of regular rear armor and do my own style of a comp cut. Just trying to get some feedback on what everyone thinks and the pro's/ con's of this idea.

Personally, I wouldn't do it without plans to stretch the wheel base.

It's a lot of work. There's a lot going on behind the stock body panels. You'll want to make filler plates and weld them in, etc. I'm doing it because I have to for a stretch. It sucks.

Thanks for the input, I got a the Rock Krawler x factory lift where you moved your rear sway bar back. I am getting ready to switch to a Anti-rock back in the rear. But when I go offroading my rear tires rub somewhere back in that area. Was thinking that this would help with the clearence issue I have back there.

You can easily trim the rear wheel well. If you take a close look, you'll see factory spot welds. You'll make life a lot easier if you only cut up to them and not past. You can get quite a bit of clearance without going past. Start there and see if that gets it done.

Check out a build on JK Freaks "Ringers build of JK Karl." He has a 4" rear stretch and you'd barely know it by the fenders. About the cleanest cut I've seen. That would be more work, but less than a full comp cut.

Wheel base in the JKU imo is already too long, not sure why anyone would stretch the wheel base unless you are building a limo.

Thanks for the feedback, I'll look today at work at the Jk freaks site about the build. I saw where I could do some trimming around the wheelwell last night after I got home. Thanks again for the input.
