JK rear camber question
#11
I didn't mean that my caster and pinion angle were both set to 5*.
What i was tying to say was my pinion angle was fine when the caster was at 5*
I don't remember what my pinion angle was, would have to go look at the alignment sheet.
I am pretty sure I remember the sheet showing rear caster, maybe the alignment rack can do 4 wheel steer alignments? Not sure?

OK - first, I am referring to Camber (the in/out tilt of the tire), not the Caster (the up / down tilt of the diff) (these are generic descriptions, but help me to keep it straight in my head...
I took it to Firestone, where the diagnosed the rear Camber being so out - however they are very challenged when it comes to modded jeeps, and apparently couldn't even adjust the toe-in since I had lifted it... They basically just reported the measurements and sent me on my way. I have the lifetime alignment there, so was not out any $$, but the numbers did help a bit (I just 3-linked the front, so I knew it would need some adjustment, just not sure where...)
Anyway - I took it to 4 Wheelers Supply in Phx, AZ on Friday, and they did a proper alignment, but they do not have the ability to measure rear Camber. The tech was super friendly & took me out to look at it after we chatted, and you can see the camber in the rear. He was not aware of anything that could be done to fix the rear, other than to try and straighten the axle. (@kjeeper10 - I had the rear truss welded on at a reputable shop in AZ - LetzRoll Offroad, but I was not there to see how they did it, nor do I know if the Camber was out before they started or not. I had stock wheels/rims on it before, so no reason to see why it would have been bent, but who knows...) I did brakes on the jeep over the weekend, and noticed something strange (to me) in the rear, but will start another thread on that after this post...
Anyway - I had found a link to some Camber shims, but after I asked the original question here, I did some more digging, and those are (from what I can tell) for the fronts only which really does make more sense to me - if the axle tubes are bent, correcting for that at the end of the tube may make for better tire wear, but won't help the internals...
So, I am still wondering, with that much camber, is there anything I can do (other than to try & weld something on the bottom to pull it back down, which is tougher since it's trussed now), and am I headed for trouble, or is it not that bad compared to stock to worry about it?
Thanks for the help - I appreciate it! I knew nothing about any of this stuff before reading on here (and while by no means an expert, I at least understand it better now), and am grateful for all the people who share their knowledge!

I wouldn't think you would have bent tubes on both sides unless you are jumping things or have huge tires (or been in a wreck). You could take it to an actual body shop that can reference all alignment points and have the ability to straighten the possible bent axle housing. I would say check the outer wheel bearing and components to make sure nothing is installed improperly or worn. Too far off really to be just bearings. A slight negative camber is usually ideal for handling, but doesn't help tire wear.
