JK Newbie...need help finding good shop
Wow, after 15 years, I've finally rejoined the Jeep family. Man... I missed it to. Now that I'm back, I'm dying to at least upgrade my shoes on my Freedom Edition. Don't get me wrong... I like the grey stock wheels, but it just doesn't look right without a little height. I have been researching lifts, tires, wheels, etc, and regardless of warranty, feel like I really need to do something ( the wife disagrees..typical accountant) having said that, I'm not mechanical in the least. I wouldn't dare start stripping the suspension and have a driveway full of parts I have no idea what they are even called. The dealer I bought it from wants $1800 for a 3" Mopar lift installed. More for a 4" I'm just looking for a 2.5" lift, so I can fit some 35's. anyone in the Southern Tier of New York know of a 4x4 shop reputable enough to do the work I want to do? Been looking at the Teraflex 2.5 coil lift... Doesn't look like a tough install...but then again, not sure I dare start taking it apart. Any help is greatly appreciated.
See you on the trails in 5 years when this beast is paid off! ( had the luxury of burying my brand new TJ in a pond some years ago...wasn't good

While you decide on a lift, you might browse the faq's (stickied to the top of this modified area), and before showing up at his door, read through a few of the install writeups. (up in the writeups section, there is an index at the top).
Those will probably generate a dozen new questions you hadn't thought of, but you'll be much better off having a better idea of what you'll be doing before you get there.

Yeah, I'd hit up Echo, buy some pizza and beer, learn how to do this yourself with his help.
I have NO experience wrenching myself. I recently swapped springs with someone on here and he was more than happy to show up at my house on the weekend and do the swap. I learned a lot that day, and enjoyed it. He also offerred to help me with any mods I wanted to do which surprised me since I didn't know him before the swap. Some people enjoy working on Jeeps.
