JK Axle Vents
#21
I have never had a problem with it running out of room. I've looked at it in many different scenarios and have never seen it maxed out in either direction. I suppose if I ever see it maxed out I'll have to consider another method. I've been running this setup for three or four years on three different Jeeps.

Iv drove through some pretty deep water, and when I changed my diff fluid I didn't see any water. I don't stop in the water tho, I keep going which may keep the pressure up in the diffs and not allow water in. I dunno but Im not having any problems with the vents as they are now. I will change my diff fluid pretty regularly tho and keep an eye out for any changes.

Hi all,
I got underneath my 2 door Rubicon today to see how high the axle vent tubes went. I wasn't able to follow the front one, but rear one terminates just above the frame behind the right rear tire.
This seems a little too low to me...seems like any medium depth water fording would drown that vent tube.
The tube was capped by some sort of white plastic cap. My question is...does this white vent cap somehow keep water out of the vent tubes? Has anyone extended their vent tubes? What are people doing to keep water out of their axles?
My last four wheeler was a 2003 LR Disco and its vent tubes went up to the top of the fire wall in the front and the tail light in the back.

OK Capt, here's your mod......Go to yor favorite parts store......buy 10 feet of 3/8" fuel line..........go home....cut it to the length you want.........remove old breather hoses........replace with new hoses...remove cap from old hose, put on new hose.........route as desired ............BAM!......your done.
That's my plan. After my lift, my rear is hanging from the emergency brake cable bracket, way to low. I'm going to relocate it higher, just haven't done it yet, but it's not big deal, very, very simple.
