The works done and the credit card is on fire. Got the BFJ (that's a pet acronym for my Jeep... it stands for "Big F&*%ing Jeep". Named so cuz I had a stock TJ and the JK is F&*%ing big)... anyhow... Got the BFJ back from the gear shop. About $2,000 later and I have 5:13's (on front and rear of course) and a Detroit TruTrac in the rear.
I literally drove it straight from the shop to Discount Tire on Linden Road in Flint. They had my Black Rock Vipers and 315/70r17 Goodyear Duratracs ready to go. They do great work.
Here's a pic side by side with the 33x12.5 Dick Cepek F-C II. The 315/70r17 Goodyear Duratracs measure 33.5 inches from the ground to the top under load with 30 psi.
Even with 4.5" of backspacing these dogs rub a tad on the cheap plastic underspoiler up front and on the brake lines! An ever so slight and gentle nudge on the brake line moves them outta harms way.
A couple minutes in the Discount Tire lot doing a bit of reprogramming with the SuperChips and I made my way home for a photoshoot with my cell phone.
The spare is riding on the stock carrier for now. Probably until it breaks...
My wife thinks I should name the Jeep "MLC" for Mid-Life Crisis. I like BFJ better.
