Default Jet Performance Chips

I did a search, and couldn't find a thread specific to these chips.

I have an Airaid CAI, and now have a Cool-Tech exhaust system installed on the Rubicon. I feel a slight improvement, but this beast still can't get out of its own way on the highway whenever I hit a mountain grade. I up and down shift so often I feel like I'm rowing a boat! So the next step in the cure for power will be a computer chip. I'm oscillating between the Jet Preformance Stage one and the Stage two chips, I usually use midgrade 89 octane fuel, and hate to be forced to use Premium only, but if the power difference is that much greater with the stage two chip, I may go that route. Any input on a NOTICEABLE difference between the two?

Are there other options out there besides these two at this time?

Anyone who has gone with the chips, I'd love to hear your impressions before I order something that may feel like a waste of money.

A lot is going to depend on how many miles you have on the odometer, and the size of tires. It looks like you have a Rubi, which has the 4.10s and 32 inch tires stock. Bigger tires kill performance pretty fast.

Everyone is reporting (and this is my experience as well) that it takes a thousand or more miles for this thing to wake up.

I put an Airaid CAI on and got my 6th gear back. I was very impressed with the performnace gain. The magnaflow and the Jet Stage II chip added some gain, but not the big boost of the Airaid. Mileage still sucks (15 mpg).

If it is still new, run it moderately hard (don't over do it now...). Mine woke up around 2500 miles and at 3000 i put on the Airaid and I am quite happy now.

Hope this helps....

I also noticed a major drop in 'umph" when I went to 35s, and the real solution is re-gearing.

Why ya sellin?? Just Curious? was it just not what you thought it would be? The UNICHIP advertises "better" results But is that for everybody?? Just askin Q's here not trying to sway anyone on any Chip. I just wanna hear all about the results. I have a different solution But I need to wait to do it to my Jeep B4 I tell you it is better than anything currently out there. So far On paper I've got a better solution. We (my Partners and I) are having a guy that is a pro RX8 "tuner" look at it for the Speed side (a turbo rotary eng) of the house but it will work on the Torque side as well so....as soon as we get the feedback from that test we will set one up for Jeep [crawler and mudder], Street rod, Big Truck, Diesel, and whatever else Apps. That is why I wanna talk to a "Chip Guru". SO Please if anyone out here is such I would like to talk to you.
