I would mod it right away... enjoy it for what you bought it for.

Mod right away. They can have trouble at any time and the dealer can be a PITA anytime. Enjoy your new ride.

Maybe it is just my compulsive disorder of not wanting to wait around so I am in the processes of locking up a AEV 3.5" package that will run around 10K installed (very similar to the 231S package on AEV website). I will probably save a few bucks considering that doing this over time and piece by piece would run around 20% more.

The dealer handled my lift install, tires, and wheels before I took possession (done by a third party). This can allow you to utilize the lower "new vehicle" tax rate on the work (assuming it is an option in your state, it was in mine). I had no issues with the breakin period or after.

I did all my mods after 300 miles on my 2009, I was able to sell some of the new parts right away but I found that most people do the same thing to their Jeeps and not many want to buy stock springs, shocks and other parts. I just sold my seats and still have my soft top listed and it's 2011. I am also on my second generation of mods and cant sell my first lift kit.

Maybe you will have better luck

This is so true! I ahd my lift, wheels, track bars, lights and brackets, bumpers, and 2 winches before my 12 was even delivered! Just patiently waiting. I did not put my stuff on until the Jeep hit 1k miles.

2 winches? What bumper did you pick for rear winch?

Default What I am doing

Just picked up a new '11 yesterday. Will be on its way to AEV for 5.7 hemi w/ manual trans, winch, bumper, hood, lift etc. A little torn on not doing the mods (except the hemi) myself (like on my '09), but AEV's package prices are really good (can't do it much cheaper on my own).

Probably not the wisest move, but I decided to do the modification from day 1. I figure I will do it in three stages:

Stage 1
Lift and Tires (AEV 3.5" w/ 35 KM2s and 17" Rims (still not sure which one to choose) and Rock Rails (ACE)

Stage 2

Rear Bumper and Tire Carrier (Expedition one or AEV)

Stage 3

Front Bumper (Expedition one or AEV), Driving lights (IPF?), Winch (Warn 9.5ti)

Down the road AEV heat reduction hood and .... I don't see this list ending #$*!

How about some wheel ideas?
