After having done this and compared notes with "elusive", we both believe this swap could be done in the $6k range with patience and sensible shopping. You absolutely need a harness (Hotwire auto $1095), PCM programming (Hotwire can do I believe but there are others $350-395), radiator ($5-500 maybe less, I spent $700), motor mounts(can be purchased separately at JSS and I think Hotwire, transmission adapter plates that could be made at home. And of course your engine and trans which I have $3k into mine but it also came with a transfer case. I could not use the TC but it can be sold. I am sure I could have had this engine and trans cheaper but he had already come down $500 and I felt bad for his 19 year old respectful ass that was trying to get cash together to marry his pregnant GF and buy a house. And of course you will need anywhere from 700-$1000 in parts. Let me know if you have any questions.
wow 6k for the swap is cheap! And I can pull that off . Yea if you can send me that paper Vergara.branko@gmailcom I will go to some junk yards to check out some motors maybe I can get the swap done by the end of 2016 thanks

How much more would it cost to be able to use all the factory guages to make it more factory?

Oh nice. How much more would it be if i went with a 6.4L hemi? I can use the trans out of my 3.6. Also is there any difference in difficulty going with the way you did it or say like a bruser conversion kit? I know the bruser will cost much more but to a guy like me who isn't a mechanic maybe its worth it??

It's the cost of the engine. You're talking way more $$$ for that engine. Like $8k vs. $1500. And you don't want a 6.4 out of a car. It's not tuned down low for crawling.

I don't know about the 6.4. I think some aspects of a 6.4 swap are different. . I do know of a guy in FL doing a 6.4 with AEV kit. I believe Bruiser uses or used the Burnsville/Dakota kit. But based upon the Lat call I placed to Bruiser they gave me the impression they don't want to mess with the Hemi stuff. I could only speak from a 3.8 to a 5.7 aspect and I am satisfied. Regardless whether you have a 3.8 or a 3.6 a v8 can be had for not much more than SC. Not to dog the 3.6 but I rented a stock one on a trip and really was not all that excited about "how much more power" it had over the 3.8.

Guess I'm confused. You will NOT be installing the new engine yourself, correct? So you are willing to pay a buttload for labor, but then are wanting to save the four to five thousand for the swap kit so none of your gauges will work and you'll have to buy new gauges and pay to have them installed? And your comparison for da20captains self-install, using a JSS swap kit, is a 30 thousand dollar Bruiser install?

Not sure how you cane to that conclusion. The only way i can afford to have a v8 right now is to do the laybor myself. Also i would prefer to do it myself but im not a mechanic so the more complete the kit and the better its put together the better off i will be. Ive never done a conversion before, Not even sure i can honestly. But all i know is the 3.6 with tons and 40's isn't ideal and i would rather do a v8 over a supercharger or turbo. Just trying to find the best converdion kit out there that i can both install and afford.

Yeah looks like the 6.4 is out of the question unless i can find a good low milage one from like a pull and save. Im not really looking for race car power. Just looking for some extra power that will get me over the hills and mountains here in Colorado with my offroad trailer. I never heard of jss until you mentioned it. How did the swap go? Were there instructions or were you left to figure everything out on your own?
