Plastic dip is pretty damn tough. I had did the badges on my old car and it lasted over a year and a half and looked as good as the day I first did it when I sold the car.

This is the best picture i have but i bedlined mine it looks great looks the same as plastidip also just did my grill and i love it!!

scuff it with some scotchbrite pads, use self-etching primer and then 3-4 light coats of paint. I've done tons of chrome this way and it never is an issue. the side badges on my MINI were chrome and had it two years, no issues
