I've done some tire/wheel research.. With that being said, will this work?

My buddy runs 285/xx/17 duratracs on his 2 dr no problem without a lift he only had to take off his air dam because it rubbed a tad at full turn. I understand the whole budget thing as i'm on one myself... but i've quickly realized there is no "on a budget" when modding your Jeep if you wanna do it right.

So if I go with 17x9(4.53 backspacing size) XD addicts and 285/70/17 I should be good for the most part I'm assuming? And if I add backspacers or Teraflex lvl kit, and remove the air dam I should be ok?

If you are getting the additional backspacing with your wheels you should not require this. I ran 285/70/17 Trail Grapplers with the only minor rub on the swaybar at full turn with the stock wheels, no wheel spacers, no lift.
