Interior LED lights with dual power sources

Interior LED lights with dual power sources
Good afternoon All,
I, too, am tired of the black hole that is my JK 2 door's interior. I picked up some LED strips (5 bulb) from my local parts store. As I was searching the forums for the correct wire to tap for dimming, I realized I need to have two power sources.
1. Dash Lights
2. Dome light
I want them to come on when I open the doors and when driving. Can anyone tell me what type and size of diode I need inline from each source to prevent back-feeding power from the other source? I know a relay setup would be better, but I want simple for now. Thanks in advance!
