Default Intake spacer ...mod or waste

I am considering adding an intake spacer and cold air take, but I really can't find any good information on intake spacers. Any thoughts ?

The JK already breaths good, cold air intakes just make you susceptible to water ingestion.
There is no proof that a throttle body spacer does anything to increase performance on a multiport injection engine.

A programmer does help a little on a 38L but nothing really available for the 3.6.
