I have installed at least 6 lifts and have done it both ways disconnect the front drive shaft and leaving it connected. it is only 4 15mm bolts that you have to remove so takes no time at all. I can tell you from experience it makes an easy job even easier and for me it was worth the time. On my 13 and 14 wranglers even installing a 2inch coil lift resulted in the drive shaft rubber boot pushing down hard against the exhaust to get the coils in place. TF and AEV both recommend it so I figure they do more installs then most.

I touch my jeep and it falls apart.

Except for driveshaft. It stays on.

Thanks for all the great feedback. I think it should be a pretty straight forward install though I have been back and forth if I should not get a 2.5" TF lift kit and do it once instead of again down the road later. Wasn't sure if I will be happy with the amount of lift from leveling kit - hard to tell from photos if it's very noticeable.

Thanks,
Don

I recently installed a rough country 2.5" spacer lift on mine. Very happy with the results. The front spacers were about 3" tall to level the jeep out. And again, didn't have to disconnect the drive shaft. I did have to use a spring compressor on the passenger front coil though. Here's how it turned out.
