Default installing 2.5 teraflex coil lift..have a few questions

hey guys im gonna install my 2.5 coil kit sometime this week and have been doing some searching and found some threads regarding the track bars and its got me wondering now..my main concern is the front track bar, would I be ok running the stock front track bar for a couple thousand miles . some have said its a big issue keeping the stock and some say it should be fine. What are the problems if any that would come about by having the front axle off center for a few months by running the stock bar. I was just planning to install the kit as is with whatever it comes with and leave it. Im in another city for the next 2 months for training so i wouldnt be able to get the front adj track bar for a couple months til I get back home. should i be fine, i wont be doing any crazy wheelin either. What are your thoughts? thanks!

id go ahead and get the adjustable, but thats just my $.02. handling will be poor without one being that your actually going to get more than 2.5", but drive around on it and if its not to bothersome to you, then youll be fine for a while.

I think you'll be fine until you can get the adjustable one installed, but I would definitely recommend doing it at some point in the near future. I've sheared the stock track bar mounting bracket off the front and rear axle just driving around town using the relocation bracket that came with my lift. The stock brackets seem to be a weak link anyway (too thin). Just added the JKS replacement bracket and support brace Friday along with their adjustable rear track bar. Went with the Teraflex HD Monster Adj bar for the front. Good luck!

Default Honest answer

I have this lift with the rear relocation bracket for the trackbar. I have added wheel spacers as well (did not get bigger tires 32" BFG MT's). I am very happy with the look. Spacers make the tires look larger and it does not cost a fortune to replace - budget and all.

When breaking real hard the vehicle pulls right then straightens. Not unsafe just an hones answer that a front adjustable trackbar would completely resolve. Remember to align and torque everything to spec so you do not end up with the Death Wobble.

Good Luck!

Not sure about that...I'll have to let one of the other guys answer for you. If you look in the JK write up section on the main site there is a pretty good desciption of how to check your alignment though. It's pretty easy to do. Front what I understand you can't adjust the caster much unless you get adjstable control arms anyway. Someone with more technical expertise can probably help you with this...

you'll be fine running the factory track bar. your front axle will shift over to the driver side a bit but it's not that big of a deal. once you get your new adjustable track bar, you can re-center your axle

toe-out IS NOT what you want to do to fix DW, finding out what is causing it and addressing it IS. jeeps are rear wheel drive vehicles and toe-in is the proper setting for it. as far as your toe setting is, you DO NOT need to get an alignment to have an idea of where it's set at.

Gooby, this write-up should help you out:

I've run mine without the adjustable track bar for like 7500 miles now and it drives like a champ. You may not need it. Why spend the money if you don't have to?

I just put this kit on and have about 600 (all on road) miles on the JK. It handles fine. Honestly it rides better than stock. I have several on-ramp curve type bumps that I hit that will upset a normal vehicle. I've hit them in the JK at speed (55-60 mph) and it is ROCK SOLID. Honestly it handles the jolt better than all the normal vehicles I own.

Install the kit. (and put the rear bracket on, unlike me.) DRIVE IT. Then decide if you need to do more to it. Don't go off all of our opinions. I think you'll be more than happy.
