Default Inside hardtop

I want to paint the inside of my 2012 Jk hardtop black, and I was wondering if anyone had opinions on how to or what to use. Would just flat black paint work?

You will need to do some light sanding to get the shine off the white fiberglass. Two cans of flat black primer with two cans of bedliner on top of that. Light coats. Mine turned out great.

Use plasti-dip. You don't want to paint it.

I used plasti- dip on my 2012. the texture is good, however cleaning it sucks. it' sets up as rubber. so when you clean it, the towel/ rag used to wipe, sticks and leaves the fibers and finger marks behind. I put a few coats on/ light coats. I'm into month 3 of removing/ installing my freedom panels and is already showing white through. easy enough to touch up, but has to be done if you want it to look perfect.

I used duplicolor bedliner spray on my last 2010. that stuff was tough as nails on the inside of the hadrtop and did not have to touch up ever. that too was a pita to clean as it leaves a sandpaper finish behind. scrape your knuckles on it and you're missing skin. lol. but was way more durable.

the proper way would be to use a flat paint with flex agent in it. that would not only be durable, it would be easy to clean as well.
that will be my next mod to my 2012. I'll have to peel the plasti-dip off and sand/ prep for paint though.

also going to add a headliner kit. I have seen 3 different ones to date. every one of them provided a quiet interior. different sound/ less sound when driving. works for reducing heat as well.
