Inner Fender Trip?

Inner Fender Trip?
Well it finally happened, I broke a front fender wheeling in 18 degree temps. This with the fact I am rubbing my rear tires at full flex means its time for flat fenders. IF I attempt to trim my stock fenders, will that jeopardize the possibility of adding Bushwackers later?
My thinking is this, since it is low cost, I could go the DIY route and trim my fenders myself. If I dont like it, I could then get Bushwackers or Ace or whoever's flat fenders. BUT my concern is that my DIY route may bite me in the butt if I later have to buy some fenders.
Anyone been down this road? Thoughts?

I am pretty sure the bushwacker flat flares are very similiar to the psc flares. That inner suppport is completley removed and will not be re-installed. You can opt to reuse the inner fender liner but you will not use the support piece that is trimmed in the fender chop.
If I was you and you want to save a few bucks right at the moment I would go for the fender chop. If you don't like it go buy your bushwacker flares and the support piece you trimmed on will just be tossed.
My 2 Cents

Nothing is reused for the Bushwhackers except the inner liners and that is an option. I've seen guys trim the stock flares still on the Jeep. If you remove them, new clips are needed and the part number for them on Ebay is on Project JKs write up.
It was that wheelie you did. I was there.

If your ever in the area of Decatur, IL I will give (free) you my front flares to practice on. I installed some PSC Crushers a month ago and my factory flares are laying up against my house. I see your NE of Indy. That's probably a 3 hrs drive but wanted to throw out the offer.
