Not they run just as wide. I have 315/70/R17 and if you do the math they are 12.7inches wide.

Forgot to add I have stock gear ratio and axels. And no trouble with these tires

Appreciate all the input everyone, decided to pull the trigger on some 315 70r17 duratracs. Which leads to my next question, any issue with the stock rear tire carrier and this size tire?

No problems for street and mild trail use.

Make sure tire is braced with rubber isolators. Daystar makes some that will work if stock ones don't.

You will need a spare tire relocation bracket or the tire will not clear the stock bumper.

Not to be the guy that brings bad news but I have a 35 inch MTR in my tailgate with 3.5 inch backspaced wheels. Good news it that it fits, with my smittybilt rear bumper anyway. Bad news is the internals are beat to hell and it rattles on every single little bump. 33 on it for almost two years and now 35s. It will work, but not for forever

(2009 JKU-Automatic), Went to 305/65-17 Procomps and the overdrive dance drove me crazy with 3.73's. Regeared to 4.88 after 18 months...no more OD dance, better crawling and no MPG sacrifice. Also added front and rear TruTrac's. Best investment I've made to my rig. Suggest regearing in advance of tires...or plan to, soon after.
