Someone please explain to me the point of a swing out tire carrier on our jks. I'm sure it's a dumb question but what the hell lol. Why do I need it to swing out if my tailgate already swings out? Lol

Main purpose is because the extra weight from having larger wheel's and or tires will bend your tail gate hinge. With the tire carrier it is much stronger and will not allow anything to bend.

There are also tire carriers that are linked to the door. I run the LoD Shorty w\ linked carrier.
