Well you might as well try it out and decide for yourself! I imagine if you are happy on the 35's, the change to 37's might not be that big of a deal.

I have a 2012 manual rubi with the 4.10's. I made the jump straight to 37's, and it wasn't all that bad at all. If I didn't do any towing, I probably would have left it as it was.

I made the switch to 4.88's, and it feels just like driving the stock rubi now. None too shabby!

I am thinking I am going to give the 5.38's a try. Going to have the install completed on Saturday so plan to have some results up shortly after.

I think 5.38's will be too much gear for a '12, but curious to see how it does. I would say 5.13's tops if it were mine

I've driven a 2012 JKU with 35's and 4.10's (at an elevation of 4-5k). Just my 2¢, but I think 5.38's will not be a good fit with the Pentastar and the gear charts I've seen on this Forum pretty much say the same thing. I could see maybe going to 4.88's, but I'd think long and hard about taking the jump to 5.38's. If you had a pre-2012 JK then that would be a different story.

I concur, 5.38s are going to be a crap ton of gear for the 2012 even with 37s. I'd roll the 4.10s for a while, with OD off they are about the same as 4.88s at highway cruise speeds. 4.56s would probably be the right call, but your best off to gets some miles on it to see what fits your tastes. 5.38s are just very very aggressive without getting a feel for things first.

Thanks for all of the information. All of you guys have a hell of a lot more experience than myself so I certainly value all of the opinions expressed

I'm running 37's on a 2007 Rubicon, 6 speed, and honestly, the only place I'm noticing a change, or thinking I need gears, is in 5th and 6th gears. It just doesn't have the testicular fortitude to pass someone, unless I downshift to 4th. I'll eventually add 5.13's, but for now, until I build my Jeeps savings account back up, it's no big deal.
