Good point. Have you seen the inside of the Raptor? Compared to the Jeep, its a caddy. I am just sick of having no power in my Jeeps coming from V8's. I would get the Eco Boost with Down Pipe, Intake, Exhaust and Tune (Turn up the Boost) and have 550 HP & tq. Of course while my babies are still with me (Bull Mastiff & St Benrard), HOPEFULLY, I wont be doing anything for another 4-5 years (They are 5).

LOVE my Jeep, just wish it had a V8!

What does a Raptor cost these days? 50K? A Rubicon is $43K. Thats only a $7K difference, if my numbers are right. I haven't looked at Raptor pricing in a long time.

The 2014 raptor crew cab loaded was $52,000 and a deal at that.

We are waiting for the 2016 as ford skipped a model year.

My understanding is that it will have the ecoboost 3.7 and not the 6.2 big block..

The jury is out on the powertrain change. My opinion is that it was a bad move.

I love the ecoboost motor but why would you stuff it in an off-road truck with dual exhaust?

I have yet to own an ecoboost probably because my powerstroke does whatever I ask of it and it's paid for. I have heard great things from owners with 100,000+ on their trucks also pulling loads in the colorado rockies.

I don't think there's much to get worried about other than the sweet sound of two more cylinders. They have ran close to stock ecoboost 150s in baja and turned some heads and finished.

In the jeep world were always thinking about weight. I don't have numbers but I'm sure the ecoboost is a lot lighter than the 6.2. So I say win for ford. Lighter engine more power. Sounds like I need an ecoboost in my jeep!

Strictly track and on-road, I would have a 1299 Panigale S in the garage, that is THE beast

New base raptors are 50k. Fully loaded rubicon with navigation and leather was 36,5k. Fully loaded raptors are upper 50s. Talked to good friends at dealer. New Raptor is going to come in at around 70k. Can't argue with new engine. It's a proven motor now and is making upwards of 500 hp and over 500 tq. Should get mid to high teens mpg instead of 8-12 the v8 gets

Not interested in a 2 door, but the unlimited "loaded" is far from 36k. You can go higher that that too.
