I e-mailed Allan at Total Innovations and now I have the proper hood being shipped..Allan is good people! Now I will wait for my refund on the damaged DV8 hood..Received a e-mail from the vendor and he said he had no more in stock and would refund my credit card. Funny he claims he has none, so I looked it up and he has now marked up the price and still says in stock..Glad now I was given the opportunity to order American made!! Thanks!

In a way you lucked out, you'll be really a lot happier even though your wallet is a little lighter. Total Innovations usually ships with a company that is super careful .When I received mine the box was in perfect shape . I don't remember the name.
The hood itself is everything advertised , AIT are much lower, trans temps down, coolant temps much better . I'm running a LS-3 and have a AreoForce Inerrcepter and the readouts are an eyeopener.
Your plastic stuff will also not degrade as quickly .
You will be able to see the heat at idle coming from the vents, a mirage wave is evident .
I didn't paint the underside of mine , I was told by the painter not to, he said it would help to pull heat away from the engine, don't know how much fact there is to that statement but....
Good Luck

Thanks for the info!! I am curious as to what the underside of the hood looks like. I can find no Pic's of the channel deflection for the rain water at the Vents, I know it is asking a lot, but could you forward a pic..Thanks DD

There are a lot of things where I will buy the knock off, my hood latches, LED lighbars, and headlights for example. If I was in the market for a hood like this, not my style or want, I would go with the original. They designed it and none of the knock offs match the quality or made any improvements.

I used wiper arm mounted spray nozzles , you can get them from any auto parts box store .
I used the method that Alan has on the web site , it works , but I think that the arm mounted application is better for my purposes .
For a while I used all of them together , I may go back to it , it puts a lot of spray on the glass .

For $50 I installed hood vents myself and they actually make my engine bay a little cooler.
