I need the Schematic of the speed sensor...Can you say Recalibrate??
Anyone have the electrical schematic for the speed sensor? Where is it located? Usually on the rear axle, but I haven't checked. I am willing to be a Guinea Pig for recalibration. Give me the wire colors or pin numbers and the corresponding descriptions and I will let you know my results.
Thanks,
Tom

You could intercept the signal that goes to the computer, and fool it into thinking it's going a different speed. It's an easy way to recal the speedo if you know where the signal is coming from.

There are recalibrators that can be placed between the sensor and the computer that alter the sensors signal so that a different speed is displayed. This works on any vehicle and is not specific to the JK. I just need the wire descriptions to know how to hook it up.

I have the 07 Service Manual and Wiring diagram. I think they may have changed the 07's where they don't use a single speed sensor any more. It looks to me like they might be using a combination of the four wheel speed sensors (which are an intergral part of the ABS and ESP functions) to come up with the reading for the speedometer.
There are input and output speed sensors on the transmission. I suppose it's possible they use the tranny shaft output speed for the signal, and let the computer compensate for what gear you are in and what gear ratios you have.

Tell me more about the sensors on the tranny. I am sure that the ESP system uses a lot of sensors to decide when to activate, but the speedo must rely on a tranny or t-case sensor. It would be the only place to get a constant reading regardless of turning/4WD etc..
