Don't go by recommendations, biggest mistake you'll make. Once you decide on the lift you want, find other members with the same kit and PM them for their opinion. good luck

I'm in the same boat as you right now.. However, after a ton of research, I'm leaning towards the AEV Dualsport RS 3.5 or 4.5"in. kits.. Alot of people have tried to sway me from it, but it fits my needs.. The biggest argument against it is that it doesn't come with control arms.. BUT it does come with correction brackets and high steer kit.. My Jeep is mostly a daily driver, getting wheeled maybe 10-12 times a year.. By using the stock control arms it is said by AEV and sponsoring vendors, that on road ride quality is greatly improved.. They sell for $2175 for 3.5" & $2249 for 4.5" and come with Bilstein 5160's.. You can buy them cheaper if you go with the 5100 shock.. For me it's a matter of deciding lift height now.. Don't want drive shaft issues if I go w/ the 4.5".. I'm calling AEV tomorrow to discuss my concerns.. Btw, I looked at the Rock Krawler 3.5"in. mid arm kit and Teraflex 3"in. kits as well.. AEV fits my needs better and I can always upgrade my control arms down the line if I so chose.. Good luck and keep us up to date on what YOU decide.. Remember, opinions are like a**holes, everyones got one!!

As far as needs are concerned, wheeling 10-12 times a year a $2k lift is definitely not necessary. A simple 2.5-3 inches of lift (shocks, coils, extended away bar links, and track bar relocation works just fine, plus keeps away the driveshaft bug), and a good set of 33-35 inch tires is all you need. Many people do more than that on a budget boost. Don't let people try to talk you into spending a ton of money on a short, mid, or long arm kit that would be overkill if you're not going to do a whole lot off road.

Point taken Donttread (great name btw), but I already had a 2.5"in. w/ 35's on my last JK.. It was good for greens and blues, but taking on the occasional black trail was hairy.. I'm the type of guy who'd rather have it and not need it, then need it and not have it.. My plan for my new JKUR is 3.5" or 4.5"in. w/ 37's.. I'll be recycling my 35's on it till they die, then upgrading to the 37's.
