I'm currently running
285/70/R17 maxxis bighorns on the stock 2010 rubi rims and they are great for off road however they are alot noisier on road and i think my next tire will be a set of km2.

Pay attention to the tire weight. Every pound you go up over stock is like adding 10 pounds of cargo. So a 10 lb increase per tire X 10 X 4 tires is like having 400 lbs of gear in your jeep at all times. Just something to think about.

Anyhow, if you are not going any larger than 35 in your future then I'd go with a 15 inch rim. That will gain you an extra inch of sidewall protection from rocks over the stock 17. As for tires, I've got a set of 285/70R17 duratracs and wish I had gone slightly larger. They are outstanding tires and hold up well. However they run small which was very disappointing. Although I have been able to get around well on trails. Just going from the stock SRA to these I noticed a drop in performance. Once again the weight issue, it's like having 600+ lbs of cargo in the jeep. All said and done, I'd love to be running 40's but these will do until I have about 20k laying around for upgrades.

Thanks for all the replys..

I know everyone says 35's or you'll be sorry...

currently I am running the stock tires for another year.. they will probably be close to needing replaced.
At that time I'll see what funds my Jeep account has in it but I am currently thinking 305's (34's)

If you are in a 6 speed manual w 4.10's... You will be fine with the 35's. May have to downshift a little in the mtns... But no biggie. I have an '11 rubi 6sp 2door and love my 35" km2's. Great ride on and off road... And it's my dd, 90 miles per day.

Get 35's for sure. I have 35 inch Toyos and there was a jeep at best buy the other day with 33 inch mud grapplers and they looked tiny compared to mine. I wish i would have gotten a pic, because i didn't think there would be that much of a difference but there was. Also, just from my experience with duratracs my buddy was driving one night and backed up into maybe a 1 foot ditch real slow and there was no debris whatsoever, and he blew a 6 inch tear in the sidewall. I know a lot of people say get those tires but having seen the duratracs and now the Toyos i would tell you to get the Toyos every day of the week. I got 4 35x.13.50 and 4 Atx Slots for like 1500, and i'll be ordering my spare soon.
