Default I have $$$$ for rims and Tires

So My Jeep Stash has built up to $1800 (not that I want to spend it all but I will) and I am really thinking of getting my rims and new tires before my 32's really need replacing.
I think I would drive my 32's around town and when I go wheeling I'd put on my bigger tires..

So here is my question (and I have read a lot of posts)
I really am questioning about going to 35's because I really DON'T want to do anything else like regear... etc.. and I don't want to break down due to larger tires. I want a good highway ride.. don't want to lose MPH... etc.
So 33's is most likely the tire for me.
I like wheeling all kinds of terrian, not really hard core stuff. say using the scale of traildamage 1-10, I like 5-6.. and other then Poughkeespie gulch a 5/7 and scholfield pass a 4/6 are the hardest stuff I have done outside of the Rio Puerco. The Rio Puecro doesn't have ratings that I know of. There are alot of levels.
Like all of you I have seen what a tire can do and how it can help etc.....
Moab is in March.

any recommendations on what tire to get? and any nice rims... I have already put several good dings on my stock rims and have put a few good gashes in the side walls (one of which made me move the tire to the spare just in case).. nothing serious but I need a good tire.

my signature has all my mods.

Thanks

Default Love the Nitto Terra Grapplers

X3 Terra Grapplers. I'm running 285/70/17 Nitto Terra Grappler's on MB Chaos 5 Wheels all from discount tire direct. Free mount/balance when bought together. Wheels may not be hardcore enough for you on the trails (I camp, hunt, fish, etc and they're great)

I put the the Terra Grapplers on my z-71 silverado to replace BFG AT's 3 years ago and wont' buy anything else for my jeep or truck. Ride great, long treadlife, plenty aggressive for an all-terrain, and can't beat the price.

Good luck, I went back and forth for months before I could make up my mind on wheels/tires

Thanks for the replys...

I went and looked at 35's and 33's - 305/65/17 and 285/70/17's today and even tough 80% say get 35's I still lean towards 33's... the regearing is what I want to stay away from and the lose of mtn acceleration, which the 3.8 JK already lacks...
conclusion was right now with only 11K on my full of life 32's I'm waiting longer and letting the Jeep fund grow bigger.

I'm still wondering how many have regeared when going to 35's.. and if not have they broke yet? so lets see how that thread responds.

Cheers

Go
With 305 over 285. Tread lugs are MUCH wider and voids are bigger.

305/65 vs 285/70. R17

285 is marginally taller, you have to REALLY look hard.
