Default I bought the wrong gear overhaul kit. My mistake?

I just got my 4.56s installed today but the overhaul kit for the rear dana 44 was wrong.
Note: I'll call quadratec tomorrow but thought I would get your opinions before I call.

what I ordered was:
Ring & Pinion Overhaul Kit for 07-09 Jeep® Wrangler & Wrangler Unlimited JK with Dana Model 44 Rear Axle
Item Number: 52419.708

on my packing slip it says:
52419 708 ring and pinion overhaul kit Rear JK rubi 35-2052

since the item number is the same I assumed that my dana 44 is the same as a rubi dana 44. However, the new bearings were too big and the pinion seal didn't fit either.

Fortunately the shop had the correct bearings in stock but they had to reuse the old pinion seal because they couldn't get one in time. He suggested I replace it as soon as I can.

So did I buy the wrong part or did quadratec give me the wrong one

Ya, this sucks dude...looking at their website NOWHERE on it does it indicate whether it's for the Rubi 44 or X/Sahara 44...they should definately send you another kit to sort out this problem as they don't diferentiate between any of their Dana 44 JK kits being Rubicon or other....whats worse is you've probably paid through the nose to get it up over the border....sorry man, I know the feeling.
I don't wanna be the guy...but you gotta know someone soon is gonna chime in with...shoulda called Dave at Northridge.
Best of luck dude!

There is only 1 overhaul kit for the rear, the problem is the mfg put the wrong parts in the kit. We have been fixing this mistake for a while now. I am willing to bet your ring gear bolts were wrong also?

and do you have a early 2007?

if you have a problem with a kit you bought from us we will take are of you of you still need it, but my guess this has been a while because we have not shipped a incorrect kit for a few months.

moral of the story: if you buy online make sure you factor in service AFTER the sale. Sometimes it's worth a few dollars more to know that you'll be taken care of in a case like this.

No, the moral of the story is BUY FROM NORTHRIDGE 4X4!!!!! Since David is a mechanic, as well as a cracker jack parts guy, the chances of you receiving an incorrect part are decreased even more.

Yes the bolts were wrong! I did buy it in November. I have an 2008. But did not find out until the end of December when the gears were changed. I was just going to return it for a credit on something else. I hate taking sales away from companies or sales people I like.

Then I got the Jeep back, Then My semi annual scuba trip to Barbados, where I might add that while my wife was in the shower I went on the internet and purchased a AEV Procal from Northridge. It's getting TODAY!!! Hemi, Sun, beach, scuba tanks, I had a very very nice January and had forgotten all about it. Like I said, mistakes happen. And I hold zero ill feelings. Sometimes mistakes happen that we have no control over.

David is so freaking awesome. He talked to me about the different ring gear bolts and then shipped me both sizes. so I would have the right ones. Awesome.
