So anywho I'm one of the billion people on this site complaining about my 2011 Rubi not having enough power and the lack there of in tuners for that "special" year in jeeps. But anywho I'm really pushing to get a RIPP stage 2 supercharger to add a little umph to my jeep. It should hold off until jeep comes out with a diesel or a V8 option. One thing I would like to get more info on is re-gearing. I currently am running the stock 4:10's and have a 4" TF LA with some 35's and running PSC BFH brawler winch etc. I'm barely squeekin 12 MPG and it's quite depressing lol...anywho give me some advice, I would appreciate it!

Are you saying 12 mpg?

Depends on how much you are willing to spend.

Re gear will be the most noticeable cheaper
option. Roughly $1000

You could supercharge or even turbocharge. Roughly $5000

If you want a v8 you have options available but it gets fairly expensive. Over $10000 if you do the work yourself.

It will be a long time before jeep offers a v8 option if ever.

Even if you ask ripp they will tell you to regear first... I like adding performance instead though that's why I traded my 09 for 2013 .. My reason is when you regear your ring and pinion become the weak point in the axel. (Smaller pinion) and I want my axel to last as long as it can before I have to buy a d60 or something like that. So to me it was cheaper to trade in my 09 than getting d60s it may be a "quick fix " but imo running 35s on 3.73 or 4.1s you will be fine.

2009 JKU with 35's and 3.73 gears and flashpaq 87 octane tune

I'm here reading this and sympathizing with you. City I'm at 11-12mpg, highway yields me 13mpg. Winter blend gas with city driving or hauling my 8x10 closed cargo trailer gets me down to 8-10mpg. Yet with just the right tailwind and flat straights I can bump up to 17mpg easy but that's VERY rare. I don't care much for all the extra power of a supercharger or v8, all I want is to regain overdrive which will really help get me some extra mileage and tank after tank the savings will add up quickly. Also the 5.13's I'm leaning towards will surely help when pulling my trailer.

Re-gear first, then see if you still want to go with forced induction. I had a 2009 and a 2010 and re-gearing placed me close to stock performance.

Can you be more specific with your gearing choice before and after , tire size, manual or auto
Too many just say yes it helps but don't provide adequaye info as to watch exactly changed for the better. Were you able to hold overdrive, was there any improvement in both city and highway mpg's. How did the gears handle towing trailers or anything else you might tow?

With the 2009, it was a manual 2 door with 35 inch tires. I went with 4:88 gears to get me back to stock. If it was an auto, I would have went with 5:13 gears. The 2010 was a manual 2 door with 33 inch tires. I went with 4:56 gears and it felt like stock again. With both Jeeps, it pulled trailers loaded to 2,000 pounds fairly easily at 65 mph. Before I re-geared, I would constantly have to downshift when going up hills. After the re-gear, I could hold 6th gear on most hills. With both Jeeps, I averaged 17 mpg after the re-gear. If you do a search, you will find a gear chart that will match gear ratio to tire size.
