Default Hypertech

So i just programmed my Jeep with my hypertech and i am left with questions. I have a 2 door manual shift. Totally stock except for my 33" tires. The only things that came up for me to change where my tire size, gear ratio, electric fan and fuel type. So in my situation all i could change really was my tires. I lowered my fan temp just for fun.
My question is: Does the hypertech programmer take it upon itself to do other performance upgrades or did i just spend 400 bucks to change my tire size?

The Max Energy has the performance upgrade. There is another one too that is just for correcting the speedometer. I'm guessing you have the Max Energy, because the question about fuel type would apply. The best performance boost is gotten with the premium gas option.

I don't want to be a kill joy, but I "installed" a Hypertech on my pickup and had all kinds of problems. Another FYI - make sure you un-install before taking it in for service - IT WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY!!! The instructions even tell you to return it to normal settings before taking it in for service.

The fuel setting selection is what determines whcich performance mode the programmer uses. The premium selection will give more of a performance boost at the cost of the more expensive gas.

There is a long thread that goes through the good and bad of the programmer.

To answer your question succinctly - no.

That is the problem with warranties and dealers, no consistancy. When I asked my dealer about resetting the computer for bigger tires, they said Chrysler told them "No way, no how!!"
