Default The "How is your D30 holding up" thread!

So I saw my first picture from my local club of a JK D30 spider gear failure!
This motivated me to ask the question to the all JK forum:
How is your 30 holding up to the tires you are running?

Me - Been running 35's for 35,000kms, wheeled it 8 times last summer with two TJ's on 35's and an XJ on 33's. So far nothing broken. Only modifications are a heavy-duty rock-smashing differential cover, and some TMR Customs C-gussets. I have a mini-truss (goes from pumpkin to upper control arm mount) ready to go on before this wheeling season starts.

No problems here on my 35's. Let's hope it stays that way when I go up one more size in a few weeks

Scared to go to 37's so I guess I will be holding off on that.

My 30 has evo C gussetts, and 44 magnums. Need to get an aftermarket pumpkin head but I really would like to find a used 44 and beef the hell out of it.

Anyways back on track, 30 is doing fine right now. No real problems that i know of. Just always nervous taking it out with 35's on it.

Dana 30 is holding up as well as expected on 35's. no failure, no C gussets, just stock dana 30 on 35's. wheel it pretty hard too.

I've had my 35s on now for about six months and have went out only twice this winter and haven't had any issues. That is however one of the things I want to build up before it breaks and I get stuck somewhere.

I also have been rolling 35s on my D30 for roughly 9,000 miles now. Wheeled it about 8 times since the lift/tires upgrade. Just installed LCA skids and I'm adding gussets just to be safe...but I haven't had any real issues thus far.

My plans are to regear and add lockers and driveshafts. And 37s. Might need a D44 for that though, not sure....

So far so good. 28K miles, wheel it once or twice a month, Evo C gussets, 4.88's and Aussie JK30 on 35" Toyos.
