How to Open Currie Antirock Say bar to fit on the bar

How to Open Currie Antirock Say bar to fit on the bar
Ok jeepers i need some help or ideas what to do.
i bought my Currie Antirock for my Jk Rear 4 door,, i have already installed the bracktes, and the main middle bar.. When it comes to put the black flat bars on to the middle bar,, am having trouble getting it on the teeth off the bar,,,, seems the flat bar opening is smaller,,,, i doubt it is just hard to put it on.... i try opening with a flat screw driver the opening off the flat bar so it gets wider and fit the middle bar, but it won't get bigger... any ideas?
