I am also planning on going in July. We r going to take our time and do it over 3 days. Iam not heavily modified but i should do just fine. You can always take the bypass routes around some of the more difficult parts like little sluice

never ran the trail. i thought that and heard that jeeps needed to run the Rubicon trail to get the trail rated badge. anyway a lift and larger tires make any trail easier

Rubicon trail.
I just got back from running it from Loon Lake to Tahoe. I have a two door but there was a 4 door in our group. He made it on one tank of gas. You will definately need sliders because there are a lot of tight places and many sharp turns around rocks. He had 37's and it was a good thing because he almost got high centered several times. There was one water crossing that with my 35's I got water in the tub (no doors) . Walker Hill and Cadillac hill are extremely difficult. You will need skid plates on the front, rear diff and oil pan/trans are a good investment. I also have skids on the rear shock mounts and they were put to good use. My group took 3 days to do it. There were several break downs on Cadillac hill and the traffic was pretty backed up. It was a good experience for sure. Have Fun!!
