How much arguing did do with the tire shop?

Well I made my decision. I looked at more pictures and took E rating into account and decided to stick with 275/65R18. It won't be much bigger, just slightly wider than the Duelers. Also this saves me $70 per tire! I reasoned that since 90% of my miles are highway, and this jeep is my DD (and my garage, since I am an apartment dweller) I should take MPG seriously. Otherwise an average 1-3 MPG drop would add up fast. Thanks for your input and encouragement everybody, i do appreciate it! Ride on, on the substrate of your choosing!

If this upcoming winter is like the last one, I will probably be joy riding up and down the hills of Cincinnati frequently, while talking to far away lands with the ham gear.
Last winter was my first with a jeep, even with the stock duelers driving in on the roads and over snow banks was an absolute blast!
Before the jeep I had a 2002 Cadillac Eldorado with a 300HP V8 running front wheel drive, that was an interesting time.

I think the easiest fix is adding a thin washer to each steering stop. Cost is less than a dollar and takes about 10 minutes. Take one of the stops with you into the hardware store to get a tight fit on the ID and a minimal OD -- Usually the stainless washers are sized like this and are a bit thinner.
