Have a suggestion for a muffler setup that would free up that space under the skid and still fit with the Rock Hard 4x4 rear?

I just got a mental picture of my wife standing in the garage with wet hair slowly shaking her head and muttering something about promising not to use her toothbrush on the engine...

Go buy a torch. I just paid like 10 bucks for one at Home Depot. As a bonus, it came with solder and flux that I hope I will not have to use.

After you fix the rubbing, then you can think about what everyone else is egging you on about.

redneck trick

get a hose clamp, put it around the outside of the exhaust hanger, tighten the clamp until exhaust doesnt touch the skid

Redneck or not, that is just a good idea.

Hehe... I was thinking water pump pliers, but your method is probably easier.

Find a long prybar or a solid pipe and just bend the hanger rod a small amount! It looks like not much is needed. It might be easier to drop the muffler and bend the rod on the muffler (big hammer) but be careful you could move it too far.
