How to mount a Hi-Lift to a ARB?
#11
FWIW there is no ARB mount. Those are SUPPOSED to be for, get this, CB antenna's.
Yeah, seemed silly to me to.
To my understanding it's a total fluke that the spacing is perfect for the Hi Lift jack.
I contacted a local fabricator and had him make me a couple of spacers out of Delrin so they'd take the vibration. I'll post up a couple pics later today. Total cost from him was about $20.

hi lift mount
I mounted my highlift to those holes but eventually removed it. You will need Threaded pipe 4 metal washers 2 nylon locking nuts and two wing nuts. So what I did was put the threaded pipe through the whole with a nut on the bottom. Then I cut a washer to fit in the center of the high lift jack and placed 1 underneath and 1 above the jack, then I placed the wingnut on top and your done.
However, You have to raise it relatively high to prevent blocking the headligts. I moved it up and was given a hard time by local cops so I took it off. I still have the pieces I think.
I even drilled a whole through the pipe to place a lock to prevent theifs.

Here's what I have and it doesn't obstruct my lights at all. 3" diameter delrin blocks with a bolt threaded through and locked. It's fixed using a lock nut and washer from below. On top I use a washer, lock washer, and a nutt. I'm currently thinking about anti-theft mechanisms. I'm usually parked in my garage here at night so I'm not super worried.

That looks legit. I am pretty sure they are not for a CB antenna because if you mounted 2 antenna that close to each other they would interere with each other.
I am coming to the conclusion that the tabs are really just light tabs that happen to function equally as well for a high mount jack if need be.
Anyone else??
