Here is a picture of the mount up close. This was before the wheel and tire upgrade. But you get the idea.

I modified mine to accommodate my 3rd brake light due to you not being able to see it with the 35 on the back. I'm at red robin right now but when I get home I can upload a pic for ya
Did you get the lockable lox pax mount ? I'm assuming I would buy:
- 1 gallon water
- 2 gallon gasoline
- tire mount
- pack mount extension
- lox pack mount

Very cool! One question, do you just pop the jeep chrome circle from the center of the stock wheels?

A picture of the setup would be nice to see.

Default I don't wheel with this setup...

I realize how much added strain this setup puts on my spare and do not offroad with this setup and wouldn't. I am prepared to add a teraflex hinge when this setup causes my carrier to fail if it ever does. I don't use it often, but am glad I have it available when I need it. I modded a Spare tire bike rack to accept the rotopax setup I won on a forum contest here. I have since modified the bike carrier (longer stem through the center of the tire) for my new wheels and 33s which have a larger offset. Aside from that, the setup is still the same as pictured here:

I can go with the bike rack with 3 bikes mounted, nothing mounted, with just the cans mounted:

Or with the cans and 2 bikes mounted

And the bike rack comes off in a minute and is securable: both rack to the Jeep and the bikes to the rack. I can also use a 6' cable lock to secure the rotopax through the tire.

That bike rack setup looks great!! I think I'm at the limits weight wise for the stock carrier. When I get the TeraFlex Hinge and carrier I want to put a Basket on top where you have the bike carrier. I think it would hold up to the added weight.

The guys at rotopax told me with this setup, the whole unit rotates, and someone could steal it by rotating the lower of the two containers. I'm not too concerned, but just thought I would share that with you.

What brand is that bike carrier?

That looks awesome! I may have to rethink my setup now!

I read the whole thread and nobody mentioned OR-FAB?

The Teraflex hinge is great but pretty expensive for what it is.

I got an OR-FAB tire carrier that came with 2 3 gallon Rotopax gas cans that fit in between the jeep and the tire. It has a completely separate hinge system so there is now ZERO weight on the actual tail gate.

The Teraflex hinge still uses the stock carrier right? Just beefs up the hinge?

The stock carrier will break...
Trust me...

Backed into a very small tree going slow. 35 inch tire twisted right off...

This is what it looks like only with rotopax cans. I haven't taken pictures of mine yet.

You can also put a hilift/shovel on it and it has a spot for a CB antennae or flag. I really like it.

Sorry if this isn't what you wanted but I just found it to be cheaper and a better option than the Teraflex. I do have a Teraflex lift and love it though. So I don't mean to bash on their products.
