Default how many people switch tires for wheelin?

i did a bunch of searches. found some opinions on this but not too many. i am wondering how many people have a set of Daily driver wheels/tires and a set of offroad tires that are swapped when they go wheelin? i ask because is use my jeep as a dd with an AT tire (33). i really want a set of 35x16 km2 's with steel wheels for offroading. i have 3.73's and an auto with an unlimited. if this wasn;t my first jeep, i would have gotten the manual but i didn;t realize how much i would enjoy this thing (and mods). without regearing i really don;t think i could use the 35's as a dd wheel/tire setup. i am hoping i would be ok if i just use the 35's for offroad days?

be gentle on the comments if this is a stupid question. i am new to this. i have searched alot before asking the question.

cheers

My JK came with 17" Goodyear Wranglers SRA's. I picked up a set of Take-Off Rubi 17" Rims with KM2's. I plan on leaving the SRA's on for the road and KM2's when I am leaving the pavement. Only takes 15 minutes to swap them .. no biggie.

IMO, you will need the regearing more for offroad than for road driving. At least that was the case for me when I had the 3.73s with 35's.

There is nothing wrong with a second of wheels, if you don't mind the swap.
I would like a second set of wheels and tires to go to the dealer for warranty service!

Default wheel swap

that what i was thinking also. i will probably get the 35's when i regear. until then i will get some 33 km2's for offroad and just swap with the AT tires until then. hopefully the 33 km2's will have some resale value left when i do the gear/35 change. any other opinions welcome ?

cheers

Make sure you like the rims with the bigger tires. I had two sets in the past. Swapped two, maybe three, times. The stree tires never made it back on the jeep. Street driving with MT's is not that bad.

I am moving in this direction too. I am going to use 17" Spyderlocks with 37" Toyo open countrys for off road and a set of 17" ProComps with 35" AT's.

The MT's are just horrable in the ice.

That's a very valid point. My current MT's are the MT MTZ's. They are siped, so deal with the snow and ice pretty well. I would not want to run KM2's around here in the winter.

the lower the gear you install the deeper crawl ratio you end up with.
Taking the t case and gears and output theres a formula to figure this out.
you would have to rev the hell outta then engine on steep climbs and other tall obstacles offroad
