Oh, hey, did that cyclops mirror come with those? Is there 1 on each side? If they are aftermarket, where did you get them?

TIA

There is a little vibration, but I don't believe there is any more than stock. The little mirrors came from an auto zone or similar establishment. This is them on amazon http://smile.amazon.com/CIPA-49404-C...vex+mirror+car

So I checked these out since it's exactly what I need for doors off and OMG they are completely way overpriced. I think I will just go to autozone and get a small round mirror to place on my drivers and passenger side A/C vent when the doors are off.

Yep, they are expensive, however unlike the mirrors stuck to your vents you can actually see behind you.

That's the reason for putting them on the vents. You can actually see behind you. I didn't get the idea from nowhere. I've actually experienced it. Lol.

Enjoy!

I for one think this Qtec option isnt that expensive. Ive been down the Die Tech route and had to purchase extra mirrors. By then, your on equal footing.

YMMV.

This is what I mean. They will just stick to the round A/C vent and since the are convex it allows you to see. I had relocated mirrors for years now while the doors are off I see fine. When they are on I could see out of passenger if I leaned over. Started to drive me crazy. Saw this option an in person and was like wow this is what I should have got. Checked price and said wow not worth it. Lol. Put stock mirrors back on and these will allow me to see when doors are off (actually they will allow me to be legal as I can just turn my head and see everything while doors are off). I'm starting to like the look of a clean side anyways while the doors are off.

So have you tried this yet? You're use of "will" makes me think your still in the planning stages. I can tell you from experience that I could never properly see using the 2" stick on convex mirrors. Also, my wife would crawl in my jeep and adjust the vents on the passenger side so the mirror never stayed put. I hope they work better for you, I just never had much luck or felt like I had adequate vision.

Interesting. How does that work? Can you still use those vents when you stick a mirror on them or are they thin enough to still be able to open them up when needed?

Yea you can still use them. It's mainly a legality thing. My state requires at least 2 rear facing mirrors. So a couple of guys I know put those on mainly just on the drivers side and they see fine and they are now legal. And don't have to worry about knocking mirrors off on the trail. They are only useful when the doors are off which really you don't need mirrors when the doors are off. I don't know a single person who can't see what's next to them when they have no unobstructed view. If you can't then you shouldn't be driving. And if you follow proper driving skills your not supposed to rely on your mirrors only anyways. Your supposed to check over your shoulder.

Don't get me wrong the quadratec mirrors are cool and if they were at a more reasonable price point then I would maybe get them myself. But nearly $300 for stock mirrors on a fancy bracket isn't worth it to me. Maybe if they made just the brackets to use with the stock mirrors for a better price point. Or maybe if the mirror housing were made of metal and powdercoated instead of plastic it could justify a little higher price. Idk. It's just my opinion.

Regardless sorry for deviating the thread. It's a nice writeup and like I said they are pretty cool and I did see them on person not to long ago and think they work well and really the best proper relocation method available I think.
